Leading telecommunication company, MTN Nigeria has launched MTN CarFi
Sticks to aid subscribers’ access to internet while they are in traffic. MTN
CarFi Sticks launched at the 2015 Abuja Motor Fair sponsored by MTN, is
the first of its kind to be introduced in Nigeria.
MTN’s sponsorship of the motor fair
is part of the company’s activities to
support the rapid development in the
automotive and road transport
sectors in Nigeria. The event which
is in its 17th edition was organised
by BKG Exhibitions Ltd.
Describing the MTN CarFi Stick, Mr.
Richard Iweanoge, GM Consumer
Marketing, MTN Nigeria said the
device will simply make life more
comfortable for the Nigeria road
traveller using internet.
“The MTN CarFi Stick is a wireless gadget designed to provide internet
access for motor vehicles. It is a fast, reliable and easy to operate high-
speed network access terminal that can be inserted into a car cigarette
lighter socket, and then allows up to ten (10) portable devices to connect to
a Wi-fi network while in a moving vehicle. With the device, users can surf the
internet easily. MTN Nigeria is the first telecom operator to launch the
device, and we will leverage it to drive innovation in the data space. MTN
CarFi Stick is a unique device developed in line with our vision of leading the
delivery of a bold, new digital world” Iweanoge said.
Speaking on the rationale for the sponsorship, Iweanoge said, “MTN is proud
of this partnership. We believe the Abuja Motor fair is not only the most
consistentbut also the fastest growing auto show in Africa and we are glad
to be driving this success and taking part in the continuous development of
this ever growing industry.”
The Managing Director, BKG Exhibitions Ltd, Mr. Ifeanyichukwu Agwu

Abuja motor fair has remained a major platform to showcase and harness
the potentials of the growing Nigerian automotive industry. MTN’s decision
to support the fair this year demonstrates their continuous bid to ensure
that participants have good value for their participation and also enhance
the development of the automotive sector in Nigeria”.
The Abuja International Motor Fair is a strategic business platform where
the largest variety of automotive products and services are showcased in
Sub-Saharan Africa. The fair has consistently provided high-level business
opportunities for participants to benefit from trade and businesses abound in
