We are seeking to hire a smart, energetic and social individual who will create a positive press and media exposure for our client.
The publicist will manage the client’s public image and appearances. She must know how to write press releases, network, and deal with media, have strong communication and people skills.
Job description of a Publicist
• A publicist oversees the public image and manages all media relations
• Coordinates publicity events and make sure the client knows where to go and what to do
• They are responsible for writing press releases, escorting client on red carpet events and attending press junkets
• Also if the client does something negative, it is the publicist’s job to conduct damage control
• Follow client to all interviews
Duties of a Publicist
• The publicist is on the job 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
• Will work long hours and also travel with their client as much as needed.
• Main duties also include fielding questions from the media, securing interviews for their client and maintaining a positive relationship with the press.
• To protect the client from any surprises, publicists will ask the journalist exactly what the story is about and what questions they plan to ask. In some cases, the publicist will ask to be present at the interview to make sure that the client doesn't comment on sensitive issues or make remarks that could look bad in the papers.
Must have attended a 4-year university and major in PR, communications, journalism, or a related field work.
Coursework also includes writing and editing for mass media, public relations fundamentals, PR ethics, media organization and communications in the information age.

The music manager must be able to create a strong and clear direction for the sound his artist takes on. He must hire songwriters that can help accomplish that goal. The content is everything and putting the effort to get the right content out there is the first step. He must also continually be in touch with different producers and look for beats/instruments that align with artist brand/style. Buy/negotiate on how to get those beats and get them fully recorded mixed and mastered.
The music manager in this new age must be internet savvy because a lot of the buzz that he would create for his artist would be online. Having a big social media presence and having connections with other people that have a massive following is also good.
Now that you are working on content and you have something to show, a music manager should also source for investors or brands that can support their efforts. These events range from listening parties to PR parties, videos and music production. A music manager should be resourceful in that he can create proposals that he/she can take to banks or high net worth individuals that may be interested in investing in an artist.
